Tighter security is being imposed on Monterey peninsula military bases.
Responding to recent events in the Middle East, the Presidio of Monterey has tweeted new rules for guests. These include that “all personnel entering the Presidio of Monterey will require official D-O-D Identification” and that escort privileges are temporarily suspended.
Those without D-O-D identification will be admitted at Bolio Gate Visitor Control Center and required to show some form of government-issued ID. Officials said that delays should be expected.
Similar rules are expected to be imposed at the Naval Post-Graduate School, also in Monterey.
