The city of Seaside has until early next year to fill the vacancy coming up in its city council. That after Kayla Jones turned-in a letter of resignation this week. Although Jones is not expected to be present for the November 15th meeting, her resignation will actually not be effective until December 1st, and the city has 60 days from that date (to either fill the vacancy by appointment, or call a special election (to fill the vacancy for the remainder of her term, which ends in November of 2020)).
