Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea (HONE-EE) said today that the search for human remains in the burned area of the Camp Fire has concluded. 88 people are confirmed dead in the massive wildland fire that destroyed the town on Paradise on November 8th.
Nearly 200 people remain on the missing list from the fire. The sheriff said nearly 18,000 fire-ravaged structures have been searched and that he is “very optimistic” that the death count will not rise significantly and that those who remain missing will be found alive.
