A woman whose name has yet to be released, passed away while in custody at Santa Cruz County Jail. The 65-year-old was arrested and booked into jail on November 3rd for a warrant. She passed away in bed and was found unresponsive by a correctional officer at 4:55 a.m. and was pronounced dead at 5:24 a.m. The preliminary investigation indicated the woman passed away due to probable natural causes and there was no evidence of criminal activity or suspicious circumstances. The coroner will be conducting an autopsy to determine that cause of death.
