(14:30) WATSONVILLE- The Santa Cruz District Attorney’s Office has a announced that a convicted killer was denied parole. On Wednesday 76 year old Juan Torres parole request was turned down by the parole board. Torres, a former Hollister police officer and San Benito County Sheriff’s deputy, is serving a life sentence for the shooting death of Thomas Tacardon outside a Watsonville bar in 1987. The board cited Torres’ lack of rehabilitation as the primary reason behind the decision.
