A contract was approved this week between members of the Santa Cruz City Council and the city’s Redevelopment Agency. The 53-million dollar contract approves protecting future tax funding for affordable housing projects, economic growth initiatives and roadway and wharf improvements. Among the projects covered under the contract is a 2.2 million dollar redevelopment loan for a 21-unit affordable housing project. A plan to cut 2 executive positions and combine departments to save over $50,000 annually, was also approved.
