The City of Santa Cruz is seeking public input on how to encourage construction of more Accessory Dwelling Units – also known as “Granny Units” – in the city. A meeting will be held tomorrow night at the Police Department Community Room to hear public input on how Accessory Dwelling Units could play a role in dealing with the Santa Cruz housing crisis.
The meeting will be held tomorrow night at 6 and the city planning department hopes to have a proposal for the City Council to consider in November.
Yesterday, Santa Cruz County Supervisors started a pilot program that removes county development fees on ADU’s under 640-square-feet, a savings of about $7,300 per project.
