San Lorenzo Valley Water Tests Go On 10-02-20 02:45 DC

Water tests are taking place daily to decide whether part of the San Lorenzo Valley Water District’s water source was contaminated as a result of damage caused by the CZU August Lightning Complex Fires.

340 homes off of Highway 236 and Highway 9 in Boulder Creek are still included in the Do Not Drink and Do Not Boil order.

Even for those who now have drinkable water, it can look a lot different. The San Lorenzo District has turned to the Olympia wells in Ben Lomond for water. The Ben Lomond wells have much a higher dissolved mineral content than other District water sources. Officials say those minerals don’t pose a health hazard, but can change the water’s taste, odor, and color.
