Officials with San Benito Foods are reportedly going to meet with staff for the city of Hollister today.
On the agenda is negotiating a “good faith payment” for sludge ponds made by the cannery.
The cannery was ordered to halt operations over the weekend after failing to pay the $2.5-million fine in which the city has levied against San Benito Foods.
In negotiations between the company and city, both parties are seemingly in favor of striking a deal involving partial payment of the fee plus property as collateral to ensure cleanup work is paid for by the company and not city taxpayers.
