San Benito County is the latest Central Coast jurisdiction to join the state-funded program “Great Plates Delivered” which provides meals to seniors. Santa Cruz County is already offering the meals and Monterey County is expected to join soon.
The program is a partnership with local restaurants to deliver meals to seniors aged 65 and older or adults aged 60 to 64 who are at high risk from COVID-19. The goal is to help seniors stay healthy at home while also supporting local restaurants that may be struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
