Oversized vehicles parked on Salinas city streets are now subject to being towed away. Beginning today, police can start towing boats, trailers. Semi-trucks and RV’s. And it’s the RV’s that have some people concerned. Many of the RV’s are inhabited by people who could end up with no place to park. Homeless advocates say people could end up with no place to live.
City officials say many of the inhabited vehicles are inoperable. Vehicle residents have been warned, they said. The Salinas city council passed the ban two months ago. And towing could start today.
