Salinas police are warning the public of a bail bond scam. Authorities say a person claiming to be a bail bondsman has contacted at least one resident, telling them a relative has been arrested and to bail them out of jail the bond company requires pre-paid cash cards totaling $3,000. in this incidence the intended victim purchased the cash cards but before providing the pin numbers contacted family members only to learn that the alleged arrest was false. A similar scam was thwarted by a store clerk in Capitola last year.
