Federal charges have been filed against three members of a Salinas gang that were allegedly part of a “murder squad” created to kill their gang rivals.
Federal prosecutors say that Anthony Valdez aka “Hitter,” aka “Tony Boronda” and Kristopher Purcell, aka “K-Dawg” have been charged with murder, attempted murder, racketeering, and the use of a firearm.
Each of the three is charged with murder in aid of racketeering, for which they could face a mandatory sentence of life in prison or the death penalty.
