A Salinas man is awaiting charges after allegedly crashing his car into a power pole Sunday night. Power was knocked out on East Alvin Drive near North Salinas High. 33-year-old Javier Gonzales reported his car stolen later that night. When Gonzales went to claim the vehicle, he admitted he made a false report. Gonzales faces charges of hit-and-run, reporting a false emergency and driving without a license.
