Romaine lettuce from the Salinas Valley is once again safe to eat. That according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention declared two outbreaks from November and December to have come to an end
On its website, the CDC said: “This outbreak appears to be over. CDC is no longer advising that people avoid romaine lettuce from the Salinas Valley growing region in California.”
The two outbreaks sickened more than 170 people in at least 27 states. Nearly 90 people were hospitalized, with 16 of those developing kidney failure. No deaths were reported.
