After a year of study, the City of Salinas on Tuesday released a 200-page, long-term strategy for solving ongoing budget challenges and creating as many as 4,000 affordable housing units in the city over the next decade.
Economic Development Director Andy Myrick says the Salinas Plan was prepared by a non-profit consultant working with city staff. The plan emphasizes what he says is strategic thinking and makes 32 major recommendations. It will be discussed by the Salinas City Council at its December 4th meeting.
