A Salinas man, who was convicted of sexually abusing his step-daughter continuously for 9 or 10 years, has been sentenced to spend 46 years in prison. 53 year-old Regino Maciel was found guilty of 26 counts of child molestation, starting when the little girl was just 4 or 5 years-old. Maciel will also be required to register as a Sex Offender for the rest of his life, and a restraining ordered has been granted prohibiting him from contacting the girl for 10 years (which is the maximum length of a restraining order (under law).
