After more than a two year absence, sexual assault forensic examinations are now available again in Santa Cruz County.
Sexual assault victims were forced to travel to the Santa Clara County Medical center for an exam because of a shortage of nurses in Santa Cruz who were specially trained to perform the test.
Now monarch services, the county’s rape crises center, in conjunction with several other local medical providers can give safe, confidential exams 24 hours a day at no cost to the sexual assault survivor.
