2 of yesterday’s entries into Half Moon Bay’s Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off broke previous weight records for the event. 42 year-old Leonardo Urena received more than 10 thousand dollars for the 17 hundred and 4 pound pumpkin (he grew at the Napa farm where he works). 2nd place went to 46 year-old Marysville attorney Brant Bardon, who’s pumpkin weighed in at 16 hundred and 93 pounds. The weigh-in leads to this weekend’s HALF MOON BAY Art and Pumpkin Festival, which is scheduled to be held FROM 9 A.M. TO 5 P.M.
