As local residents crowded into evacuation shelters because of the c-z-u fire… county health officials are now preparing for a spike in Covid 19 cases.
In anticipation of that uptick the county increased the number of case investigators and contact tracers by 12 to the current 49 investigators.
The state loaned Santa Cruz county “Abbott Point of Care” testing machines that are able to give results from a Covid 19 test in 15-minutes.
