The Pacific Grove City Council tonight Is considering a proposal to ban gasoline-powered leaf blowers in their city. Residents have complained for years about the noise the blowers create and Pacific Grove already has a noise law on the books, but no equipment to measure the sound levels.
Recently, there have also been complaints about pollution and fumes, so a total ban on gasoline-powered leaf blowers is being considered at tonight’s meeting. If approved, enforcement of the ban would be delayed a year to give residents and landscape professionals time to switch to electric and battery-operated blowers.
The meeting will be held today at 6 PM at Pacific Grove City Hall, 300 Forest Avenue.
