(News Release from Pacific Grove PD)
Today, on June 4, 2020, at 8:36 AM, Pacific Grove Police Officers responded to the 200 Block of Grove Acre regarding a peace disturbance. When officers arrived on the scene, the male subject barricaded himself into his apartment.
Officers called for additional public safety resources and evacuated neighbors from their apartments.
At 5:25 PM, Special Response Unit officers took the individual into custody safely and without harm. No other individuals were located in the apartment with him. The investigation is continuing currently.
We want to give a huge thanks to the regional Crisis Negotiation Team and the Special Response Units with team members representative of all Monterey Peninsula agencies. Also, thank you to Monterey Fire Department and American Medical Response for standing-by.
