(17:00) FELTON – Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies took the meaning of “Serve And Protect” to a whole new level on Monday, when an overanxious newborn (named Lucas) decided it was his time to leave the womb. The parents, Charlie and Michelle Missman, said there was no way they would have made it to the hospital in time. Charlie, a deputy FIRe Marshal in San Francisco, pulled into the Felton sheriffs office substation instead, where he delivered his baby boy. Sheriff Deputies, Felton Firefirefighters and A-M-R Medics assisted. Michelle and Baby Lucas are now resting up at Dominican Hospital, and Lieutenant Kelly Kent and Sheriff Jim Hart even came by to give their regards.
