(12:01) SANTA CRUZ- A triple fine policy is now in effect in the downtown area of Santa Cruz. As of midnight last night (Sun) triple fines are being issued for a number of municipal code violation deemed as safety hazards. Citations will be issued for offenses such as open containers of alcoholic beverages, and public intoxication in the downtown safety enhancement corridor. The policy will be enforced until 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.
