(11:42) SANTA CRUZ- The water main break in Santa Cruz on Thursday was caused by a hit and run driver. Officials say that at about 4 p.m. a vehicle collided with a downtown fire hydrant causing the water main below it to rupture on the 300 block of Pacific Avenue. Area roadways had to be shut down while work crews performed repairs. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to contact Santa Cruz police.
