(07:56) SANTA CRUZ – The city of Santa Cruz has announced that it will be conducting an emergency breach of the San Lorenzo River Friday morning. Beginning at 8 a.m., crews will be releasing water at the river’s mouth on Main Beach. Work will continue throughout the day. The emergency breach is necessary to lower the river lagoon’s water level to prevent flooding. Crews will clear a perimeter around the river mouth, limiting public access to the beach. (S.G.)
