November 15, 2015: Peninsula Woman Guilty of Elder Abuse

(14:30) MONTEREY- A Monterey Peninsula woman was convicted of financial elder abuse on Friday. A jury also found 50 year old Katherina Ferguson guilty of identity theft and 2nd degree burglary stemming from an August 2014 incident where Ferguson attempted to withdraw $36,000 from her 80 year old mothers bank account. A bank official suspected fraud and halted the transaction, an investigation found the victim did not give Ferguson permission to access the funds. Ferguson faces up to 4 years behind bars, she is due back in court on November 18th.
