November 11, 2016: Five Children Taken into Protective Custody

(08:20) Salinas – Five children were placed in protective custody after police received information about 10 month old baby being abused.  On Monday CPS notified police of the situation.  The babies 64 year-old grandmother, Chin Guajaro,  21 year-old Shayla Nukie and 24 year-old Jamie Santos brought a 10 month old baby to the police.  Police reported that the baby was healthy and unharmed.   Officers learned a few days later, with help from CPS, that the child that was brought to them with was not the correct child.  After locating the correct baby at an apartment on North Main Street police reported that the baby was suffering from wounds on its torso and legs. 19 year-old Michaella Davis, who is responsible for the child, was arrested.  Guajaro, Nukie, and Santos were also arrested and face charges of delaying the investigation, conspiracy and child neglect.
