No-Fault Evictions have been banned in Salinas. Salinas city councilmembers unanimously passed the emergency ordinance last night. This ordinance will last until the Tenant Protection Act Of 2019 takes effect in January. Although there are certain exceptions, the ban prevents the owner of a residential property from evicting tenants without just-cause. When AB-1482 takes effect next month it will also limit annual rent increases.
