Here’s some of the new data Newsom highlighted:

  • 12,807 new cases in the past 24 hours (a record)
  • Seven-day average of 90 deaths a day
  • Seven-day average of 9,420 new cases a day
  • 127,487 tests conducted Tuesday
  • 6,664,419 total tests conducted in California
  • Seven-day positivity rate of 7.6%
  • 35 counties on the state’s watchlist (Butte County added)

Newsom talked at length Wednesday about the state’s efforts to procure more personal protective equipment for those fighting the disease.
