A huge white blimp could be seen floating across Central Coast skies this week. The so called “Cloud Lab” hovered over Salinas, Santa Cruz, and the Monterey Bay gathering atmospheric data for a documentary by the British Broadcasting Corporation on the environment. Onboard a team of British scientists studied insect life, the relationship between trees and the air we breathe. The BBC says the documentary is designed to educate people on how we can predict the weather like climate change. Cloud Lab wrapped up it’s data collection Wednesday. The documentary is set to air next year.
