A new tax is slated to go into effect tomorrow on marijuana dispensaries in San Jose.The 7% tax was approved last fall by voters, and is said to bring in millions of dollars to city coffers. The new tax comes after city finance officials issued a memo this past month saying the cooperatives violate City Council guidelines, which limits them to commercial areas and requires them to be at least 500-feet from homes, schools and each other.
