SALINAS – The Monterey County Board Of Supervisors has approved a lease and funding agreement for a new warming shelter in Salinas. It will be located at 20 West Market Street, near the Amtrak Station. The nearly 5,000 square-foot building used to house a credit union. The 68-bed shelter is scheduled to open November 1st, and will operate 7 nights a week from 6 p-m until 8 a-m. Nightly meals will be provided, and there will be access to indoor bathrooms. Case management and counseling services are also scheduled to be available at the new Salinas warming shelter.
