If approved later today, former chief of staff Kate Daniels will become the new District 5 Planning Commissioner in Monterey County. Longtime commissioner Keith Vandevere resigned in late October. Daniel’s, a Monterey Peninsula native, was nominated for her knowledge of the community, and her dedication to public service. Monterey county supervisors are slated to confirm, or reject, daniels’ nomination at their meeting today.
