The new Monterey county jail is reportedly now on-track to receive inmates by the beginning of the summer. After the new 576-bed jail is in-service, the Monterey County Jail System will include about 1400 beds . The new jail will also house 12 programming classrooms, as well as mental health facilities, and cells that are compliant with the American’s With Disabilities Act.
