The Neptune Pool At Hearst Castle is expected to re-open for public tours in the next few weeks. The iconic tourist attraction was closed-down and drained in 2014, so a $5.4 million restoration project could take place. All of the old tiles were removed, and the cracks in the concrete shell of the pool were filled with expandable polyurethane foam. The concrete shell was then sanded and resurfaced….and a water proof liner was added….before 15 thousand replica tiles (from the original source) were installed to complete the restoration.
