Officials with both the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District and the Pajaro Valley Unified School Districts have decided to start their school years with their distance learning models. That’s because of the spike in cases of Covid-19 in both Monterey and Santa Cruz counties. In both cases, they plan to move to hybrid, or in-person, learning as soon as state mandates (and public health conditions) allow.
