The Monterey Police Department is looking for a new Police Chief. Assistant Police Chief Dave Hober is currently the interim police chief, after the retirement of Police Chief Phil Penko, who held the position for 30 years. The City of Monterey will hold an open recruitment for the position of Police Chief, and is also recruiting for other officer positions. Interested candidates can apply through the city’s Human Resources Department.
