Monterey County prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for a Salinas man charged in a shooting that killed three and injured four others. 22-year-old Giovanni Pachecho allegedly opened fire on a crowd outside a taqueria on Williams Road in 2013. Pacheco’s attorney says he is mentally disabled with an IQ below 70, making him ineligible for execution. The court has not yet verified Pacheco’s disability.
