Monterey County CPS makes changes

07:23 MONTEREY COUNTY-Overcrowding, income, employment, and immigration status, contributing to Monterey county’s population, has been part of designing the “roadmap to strengthen child well being,” an effort by social services to garner support from community organizations to be more involved about child welfare.  Elliott Robinson, director of the Monterey County department of social services, notes a major change for Monterey County Child Protective Services was in the protocol used to verify reports of abuse.  The department was already witnessing an increase in calls, coupled with the new directive to investigate all incidents, hiring more social workers is eminent.
