Monterey County District Attorney announced on Thursday that criminal charges have been filed against a Carmel business owner.
Jeffrey LeTowt, owner of The Tuck Box restaurant in Carmel has been charged with violating the State of California’s stay-at-home order and Monterey County’s shelter-in-place order.
The owner is accused of providing table service. allowing customers to eat on the premises, failing to wear a face mask while customers were present, and not maintaining social distancing in the restaurant.
Prior to filing the criminal complaint, the Carmel Police Department, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office, and the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control each warned the LeTowt that his actions violated the Health Orders and explained the consequences of such violations.
