In state news… minimum wage workers will get a one dollar raise to 12-dollars an hour for small companies and 13-dollars for large corporations. The increase went into affect January first.
The minimum wage increased every year since 2017 and is expected to reach its cap of 15-dollars an hour by 2023.
Also new this year… family leave has been extended. Now workers are allowed to take eight weeks instead of six to care for a sick family member or pregnancy leave.
