Fretting about increased traffic on highway one thru Santa Cruz?
The campaign for sustainable transportation presents alternatives to proposed auxiliary lanes… which are basically extra long merging lanes. There will be a meeting at the Aptos Library from 10:30 until noon this Saturday.
A caltrans final environmental impact report that came out in january, shows that auxiliary lanes would slightly worsen traffic flow on highway one. Saturday’s meeting will focus instead on the “bus-on-shoulder” alternative.
