University leaders at C.S.U. – Monterey Bay are working with people in the Monterey County Health Department to create a plan for how to deal with a Measles outbreak if it happens on the campus. The most important recommendation the school has so far is that if a student thinks they may have Measles, they are encouraged to call the Health Department, instead of walking into the Health Center. So far hundreds of Cal-State – L.A. students have been quarantined due to a Measles outbreak there, but only 1 case of Measles has been reported in Santa Cruz county, and no cases have been reported in any school on the Central Coast.
