May 5, 2016: VTA Service to be Delayed Due to Police Activity

(07:13) SAN JOSE – Commuters planning to use the Santa Clara VTA’s light rail service Thursday morning are being asked to anticipate delays. The service is being impacted due to police activity in the area of North First Street and Component Drive in San Jose. Officers are reportedly engaged in a standoff with a man on top of a VTA light rail car. As a result, trains are not being allowed to travel north of the Metro Station. An alternate bus service will be available on the Santa Teresa/Alum Rock line between the Metro and Alum Rock stations. Another bus will be operating on the Mountain View/Winchester line from the Metro to Mountain View stations. (S.G.)
