(08:45) Salinas – Former Salinas councilman Jose Castaneda’s attorney, is planning to file a motion for a new trial. Castaneda was found guilty on Wednesday for stalking, kidnapping, sexual battery and inflicting corporal injury on his ex-girlfriend. Castaneda’s attorney, James Segall-Guteirrez, believes the 6th amendment right to competent counsel was violated. Segall-Guteirrez plans to file the motion before Castaneda is sentenced on June 22nd.
