(14:37) MOSS LANDING- Marine biologists have noticed an increase of whale entanglements in the Monterey Bay. Although specific numbers on pas verse present incidents are currently unavailable. A spokesperson at the Moss Landing Marine Lab said at least three whales were rescued from fishing gear last week. Primarily, humpback whales are the species usually found in distress. The rise in humpback populations and their proclivity for feeding close to shore are believed to be related to the increase.
