(08:16) WATSONVILLE – The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted robbery in Watsonville. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning at the Quik Stop on East Lake Avenue. A Latino man in his 30s reportedly entered the business, told the clerk that he had a gun and demanded money. The clerk then scared off the suspect with a pair of scissors. The man fled the scene in a waiting brown sedan. He appeared around 5 feet 7 inches tall and around 140 pounds and wore a hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses.
