(17:30) SANTA CRUZ/FELTON – A local family has been found safe after getting stuck in the woods and being forced to spend the night in the rain. The group took a day trip from San Jose to do some day hiking in Big Basin State Park when they wandered a bit too far off the trail. To stay dry, the family sought shelter in a hollow tree. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s department found them Sunday morning – a bit shaken and soggy but okay. They warmed up at the State Parks Nature Log before heading home.
