A man was airlifted from a beach north of Santa Cruz early Sunday. At about 2 a.m., first responders were dispatched to a location near 4 Mile Beach, after two men fell from a cliff by Wilder Ranch. One victim fell nearly 50 feet to the beach and was experiencing back pain. A ledge broke the fall of the second victim who was able to walk to safety. The first air ambulance called declined the request due to severe weather, instead a Calstar helicopter responded and transported the victim to a trauma center.
